The Atlanta Singles Golf Association, formed in 1996, is a not-for-profit organization with a current membership of approximately 150 members. The club was founded based upon the principal of getting single men and women together to enjoy their favorite game … the game of golf.
Our Monthly Gathering is held each month at a location in the Atlanta area. At this meeting members and guests have the opportunity to network, socialize, and sign-up for our many social and golf events. Our home page will have the location of our next Monthly Gathering.
Our Golf Committee is responsible for planning, coordinating and leading our numerous golf outings, which include weekday and weekend events, weekend get-a-ways to such places as The Bear Trace courses in Tennessee, Canyon Ridge; and Columbus, GA. In the past, there have also been trips abroad to Scotland and Ireland. We offer clinics to both our new golfers and those experienced golfers who wish to improve their games.
Members can submit scorecards to our Handicap Chairman, who maintains all scoring records and keeps our handicaps for us throughout the year. A Handicap card can be obtained upon request.
Our Social Committee coordinates events that make it easy to meet other members. These events are attended by both golfers and non-golfers and consist of Cirque du Soleil, wine tasting, putt-putt golf, bowling, dinner at various restaurants, Martini's and Imax, dance lessons, houseboat parties, happy hours, Braves and Falcon games, Superbowl parties, and other social activities. We also partner with other singles organizations for activities to expand our singles network.
Our membership's volunteer efforts are provided to such events as Breast Friends Charity Golf Tournament, and other local golf tournaments. On several occasions we have volunteered to work the telephones for GPTV Public Television for their annual fund raising campaign. In addition, each November we have asked our membership to bring canned goods to our Membership Meeting for distribution to The Atlanta Food Bank or a family that we have selected to help during this time of the year. Our December Membership Meeting generally focuses on helping the needy children of Atlanta. At that special meeting the U.S. Marine Corp has attended to collect toy donations for the national "Toys For Tots" program.
