We head down south for this year’s Club Championship. Canongate Golf at Sun City Peachtree located just outside of Griffin is our host. The course will provide an enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels. The wide fairways and unobstructed openings to most greens allow the casual golfer to show their skills. For the experienced golfer, many of the holes provide a risk / reward decision. Do you go for the green to get a low score or play it safe to prevent the high score?Most of the holes are tree lined giving you the feeling you are in the country, not a golf club community.

There are two competitions available for signup at our club championship. We have a four person scramble that everyone can sign up to play. No handicap is required, just a desire to have fun. We also have a stroke play competition for members that have a GHIN or ASGA handicap (28 or less for men, 32 or less for women). This year men will play from tees based on handicap. All men will be eligible to win low net, but only the lower handicap golfers playing from the blue tees will be eligible to win low gross and become club champion.

Before golf, we will have goodie bags to hand out to all golfers, which will include a gift card from a local golf store. There will be a putting competition you can participate in while getting ready to play. To help you warm up before you play, there is an outstanding practice area to work on your full swing, sand play, chips, and putts.

Following golf, we will gather for a buffet dinner, drinks, and awarding of the prizes. Along with announcing the winners, a drawing will be held to give away prizes, including free rounds of golf at many of the local courses we have played this year.

This is a members only event as a portion our membership fees goes toward covering the cost of the Club Championship. If you are not a member, there is not a better time to become a member. This is your best chance to meet many of our members and get to know us on and off the course.
